What causes Hypoglycemia to occur?

Hypoglycemia can occur in different ways. In most cases, hypoglycemia is caused by hereditary factors. If one or both of your parents have hypoglycemia, it is possible for you to have it as well. However, it does not necessarily means that you are sure to have it.

Direct damage to the adrenal glands because of surgery or accidents can also cause hypoglycemia. Adrenal glands are the one regulating the amount of glucose in the body and once it is damaged, the presence of hypoglycemia may occur.

Inadequate intake of glucose can also be a cause of hypoglycemia. One must have an adequate supply of glucose in the body everyday. If you take fewer amounts or remove glucose in your diet, it is possible for you to experience hypoglycemia.

Diabetic patients can also develop hypoglycemia. Diabetic patients are known to have large amount of glucose in their body. This is reduced to taking hypoglycemic drugs but overusing it causes hypoglycemia.
